Flannery and I have a lot in common today. Yesterday I helped kill and skin a sow name Southern Pacific Railway. I held her uterus and ovaries in my hand while her owner carefully cut away the tissue holding her guts. It was an amazing day. She never became meat for me, or for him either, but remained the sow he raised who was gracefully fulfilling her life purpose to be food. Today she is meat, wrapped in pieces for the freezer of her new owners.
I am glad Flannery was there to commune with the steer and eat the clover the steer had been eating a few minutes before.
